Lowther Antiques was established by Pat Novissimo in 1970 in London from a stall at Portobello Road. Finding her love of early jewellery and establishing her truly decorative and aesthetically tuned eye, she has grown her business over the years exhibiting at many prestigious antique fairs including 25 years at the Olympia Antique Fair in London.

Specialising in Georgian Jewellery, she collects and sells fine antique jewellery to a worldwide clientele. Her passion and knowledge of early jewellery is well respected not only in England but in America, where she has exhibited for many years. Many of her exquisite pieces have been published in books; most recently ' Georgian Jewellery ' by Ginny Reddington Dawes and Olivia Collings and she frequently works with costume designers advising and providing jewellery for period films such as ' Portrait of a Lady starring Nicole Kidman and ' The Young Victoria'  starring Emily Blunt. And soon to be seen in ' Far from the Madding Crowd' with Carey Mulligan - due for release in May 2015

Her philosophy is clear ' Everything I buy must touch my heart. It has to appeal to me as if I were buying it for myself. I also feel that I am only the guardian of the piece, I never own it. I am merely the caretaker until someone else takes over that charge. These beautiful pieces have been around for hundreds of years and will exist for many hundreds of years to come and so they pass thorough our lives, enhancing them with their spirit and beauty'.

Pat currently sells from Portobello Market every Saturday and exhibits in antique fairs in England and America. For a full list please go to the events page.
